Luggage Stickers

How do you remove the stick on car stickers from windscreens?

I have recently taken over use of my husband's car and he had a number of stickers on the front windshield most of which just peeled off. However there is one for an angling club which seems to be welded to the glass. What can I use to get this off. It's way out of date in any case but has been on for several years and I guess the sun has helped to stick it firmly. Help please.

  1. razor blade.
  2. Give it a wipe with some white spirit and leave it to soak for a while. Even if the glue is old it will soften after a time.
  3. razor blade scraper after soaking with windex
  4. they sell a product called goo gone an old method was hair spray
  5. Razor Blade and Elbow grease. You need a stanley knife that comes out horizontal instead of vertical, they're flat with the release button in the middle.
  6. Nail varnish remover works.
  7. Goo Gone is great for this kind of thing. It has never failed me when I've needed to remove sticky residue from almost any non-porous surface. Just spray and let sit for a few seconds and either use a razor blade or rag to wipe away. If it's really sticky, then just repeat the process. This stuff is so good that usually wiping with a rag works, which I prefer as a razor blade can scratch if you're not careful. You can find Goo Gone in any hardware or home improvement store, even Bed Bath and Beyond. It's readily available and doesn't smell badly.
  8. Try "Goof off." That stuff is amazing!
  9. Goo Gone. You can find it the cleaniing aisle of your local store. Works wonders.
  10. Use white spirit, don't use anything that will scratch the glass as if the scratch is in the drivers view area (sweep of the o/s wiper blade) then you will have a mot failure next time you mot the car and will need a new windscreen.
  11. Try rubbing alcohol. I have kids and have found stickers in all sorts of places. I have removed tons of the gray sticky stuff left over from stickers by scrubbing it with alcohol and a rag.
  12. Windscreen suggests the UK to me. I use Sticky Stuff Remover which is the equivalent of Goo Gone (and even smells similar) Try http://www.screwfix.com/prods/51059/Cleaning/Specialist-Cleaners/De-Solv-It-Sticky-Stuff-Remover-200ml?cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-Datafeed-_-Cleaning-_-De.Solv.It%20Sticky%20Stuff%20Remover%20200ml If it has really dried out then a raxor blade should do it but be very careful
  13. Soak a rag in metholated spirit, and keep rubbing. This will remove the sticky residue. I use this technique a lot at work.
